POP3 is a basic email protocol supported on most clients (e.g., Outlook). It checks the server every few minutes and downloads the email to your local client.

Warning – POP3 will not synchronize between multiple devices. If you read, respond to, or delete an email on one device you will not see this reflected on any other device’s. This also includes Contacts, Calendar, and Task items. POP3 is not a recommended connection method for your email. A better protocol to use would be IMAP with CalDAV and CardDAV.
